Kadokawa Games recently announced God Wars 2, a sequel to the RPG based on Japanese mythology, God Wars: Future Past. It’s platforms have been officially announced as PS4, Switch, and PS Vita.
God Wars director Yoshimi Yasuda says God Wars 1 used “country structure” of Japanese mythology as a base and for God Wars 2 it’ll use “kingdom inheritance” of Japanese mythology as a base. Yasuda says he wants to tell a story about the founding of Yamato, and the “end of the mythological world” where the country moves from the world of gods to the human realm.
Here’s a first look at a couple characters:
Takeminakata (CV: Sho Karino)
The son of Ookuninushi.
Orochi (CV: Moa Tsukino)
A girl who inherited the spirit of Yamata no Orochi.
“For this next title, we’ll further evolve the well-received tactic battles, and we’d like to improve on the graphics including character designs,” commented director Yasuda.
God Wars 2 is in development for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStatin Vita.
