Monster Hunter: World is getting a Behemoth fight from Final Fantasy XIV, and the Square Enix MMORPG is getting a trial fight against Monster Hunter: World’s “King of the Skies,” Rathalos, starting August 7.
Here’s a new trailer featuring the Rathalos battle and other collaboration content. The crossover will arrive as part of Final Fantasy XIV’s Patch 4.36 update, alongside the next installment of The Forbidden Land of Eureka, titled “The Pagos Expedition.”
Level 70 players who completed the “Stormblood” main scenario quest can take on Rathalos in both Normal and Extreme versions in a Trial titled “The Great Hunt.” The normal version will have eight-players team up against the King of the Skies. The Extreme version puts four players up against Rathalos, making it the first for a four-player trial. You can expect the Extreme version to be more challenging with unique mechanics included as a homage to Monster Hunter: World and its gameplay.
Here’s a look at some of the special rewards that’ll be available to those who play through the collaboration content:
Rathalos Mount
Palico and Poogie Minions.
New BBQ Spit Furnishing
Rathalos Armor Set
Producer and director Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida teased some content we can expect to see in Patch 4.4 during today’s Letter from the Producer Live:
