While we got a glimpse of the returning characters in Nelke and the Legendary Alchemists: Atelier of a New Land in the Famitsu preview, this week’s actual Famitsu issue reveals a bit more about the characters. It also goes over how to create items and sell them for money in the upcoming game.
Characters
Misty Elulute (CV: Akira Sekine): A maid who grew up with and served the protagonist, Nelke, since they were children. She has exceptional combat capabilities and a cool personality. While she may come with a sharp tongue, she’s a voice of reason.
Fairy (CV: Yoshiko Ikuta):
A boyish fairy who lives in a fairy village near Vestbalt. While the fairies have cut off contact with humans for a long time, this fairy decides to help with the town development. While the fairy speaks with a boyish tone, its actual gender is unknown.
Elfir Traum (CV: Miki Nagasawa):
An alchemist who travels alongside Marie. She’s quite methodical in doing things and very kind, but is also quite clumsy and constantly breaks things. She’s got a sweet tooth and loves cheesecake.
Viese Blanchimont (CV: Miwa Kouzuki):
A kind girl who is traveling with her childhood friend. She’s only average in alchemy, but has learned and improved a lot through hard work. She supports her childhood friend using her skills.
Logix “Logy” Ficsario (CV: Kaito Ishikawa):
An alchemist who works in the R & D department. He’s quite serious and jokes may fly over his head, but thanks to Escha’s influence, he’s slowly gotten more easygoing. He’s quite skilled in swordplay.
Escha Malier (CV: Rie Murakawa)
A young girl who works alongside Logy in the R & D Department. She wants to bring happiness to the people using her skills in alchemy. Escha’s always cheery, but is also a bit naive. She loves sweet foods.
The most important thing Nelke needs to do is to create stores, where items can be sold in order to make money. Using the money earned, she can develop more of the town.
Of course, the items need to be crafted by alchemists. And alchemists need to man the stores as well. Each character can craft different items and are suited to different jobs in the stores. How you utilize your human resources is the key to developing Vestbalt into a large city.
The latest issue of Famitsu doesn’t explain how material gathering has changed, but does provide an interesting screenshot at the exploration and gathering process. It seems that Nelke and the party members will walk along a path at the chosen exploration area until they reach items, and each path will have a strong enemy at the end.
Nelke and the Legendary Alchemists: Atelier of a New Land will release in Japan in 2018 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo Switch.
