A new Sakura Wars game was announced in April this year without any information other than when in the timeline it takes place, but new job listing discoveries point towards the game heading to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. [Thanks, Sina!]
New job listings were posted at Creative Job by Sega that explicitly state that staff are needed for the new Sakura Wars project. These include background designers, character designers, and mecha modelers.
What’s interesting is that one of the needed skills is experience with developing for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, or Xbox One. This hints that the game is likely coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, being part of the latest console generation.
Apart from the above skill, the job listings also recommend having experience with developing using high-end game engines.
The new Sakura Wars project does not currently have any confirmed platforms or a release date, but previously we reported that Sega stated that the game will release by the end of the current fiscal year.
