A Pokémon presentation, at which Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, Game Freak and Niantic Labs representatives were present, was held in Japan today. The first game to be announced at the event is Pokémon Quest. It will be coming to both the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices.
Pokémon Quest is a Pokémon game with characters from the Kanto region inhabiting a new location called Tumblecube Island. It is a free-to-start game where you have up to three voxel Pokémon with you and head out on expeditions. You use Power Stones, which are equipped to characters, to influence their abilities. For example, a Charmeleon is shown equipping a Mighty Stone that boosts its attack by 144 points and adds +6.0% to HP recovery. As you explore, you can collect new Pokémon, find items and fight wild Pokémon.
The official Pokémon Twitter account has shared gifs showing how Pokémon Quest works.
