GungHo announced a brand-new smartphone title called Chrono Magia, a new card game with a heavy focus on strategy and using many cards. Here are its first details from this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine. [Thanks, Ryokutya2089 and Game Jouhou.]
Chrono Magia is a game by Daisuke Yamamoto, known as the producer of Puzzle & Dragons. “It’s actually a very important project that we’ve been warming up for a while now. We’re making it with the best members and with plenty of spirit,” Yamamoto said about the new game.
As far as other staff members go, its executive producer is Kazuki Morishita, director is Shinichi Kudo (not that one). The composer is Yuzo Koshiro who worked on titles such as Etrian Odyssey V, 7th Dragon III Code: VFD, and several others during his early years at Falcom. Incell will develop the app while Pocket Idea handles the server part.
As for illustrators, the Chronomagia will feature artwork from the following:
- NINNIN
- Shinnosuke Hino
- Rare Engine
- Yoichi Ito
- Erajima
- Takahiro Araya
- Miho Midorikawa
- Ittoku
- Shishizaru
- Hideaki Takamura
- Yosuke Adachi
Chrono Magia is a competitive card game with highly strategic elements that will have you use all kinds of cards. The magazine says not only will you get to play against other players from Japan, but also players from overseas, so it sounds like there are already plans to bring the game outside of Japan.
Lastly, here are some characters that were revealed:
- Karin Shinto (CV: Yumiri Hanamori)
- Elena Brilliant (CV: Ayane Sakura)
- Zeda (CV: Tetsuya Kakihara)
- Riser (CV: Kentaro Tone)
Chrono Magia is expected to launch in Japan in Spring 2018 for iOS and Android.
