There were multiple updates by Niantic on Pokemon GO last week, ranging from the legendary Pokemon Kyogre, to new Community Day events, to discontinuing support for certain Apple devices.
Firstly, Kyogre is now appearing in Raid Battles over the world at Gyms. Players interested in Net Balling this beast should head over before February 14, 2018 at 1pm PT, where it will cease to be available.
Niantic also announced Community Days, events where Trainers can go meet up at local parks and catch a special featured Pokemon. The first Community Day will be on January 20, 2018, featuring special Pikachu that know Surf. During event hours, there will also be doubled EXP.
Here are the times based on region, according to Niantic:
– The Asia-Pacific region: January 20, 2018, from 12:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. JST (GMT +9)
– Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India: January 20, 2018, from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. UTC (GMT +0)
– The Americas and Greenland: January 20, 2018, from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. PST (GMT -8)
On the other hand, there was some bad news, as Pokemon GO was confirmed to stop supporting Apple devices that are unable to run iOS 11. The termination of support will take place on February 28, 2018.
Pokemon GO is available for iPhone and Android.
