It’s been reported by Kotaku UK that a remaster of the first Dark Souls game will be announced after a “Nintendo Direct Mini” that is expected to be announced by Nintendo in a few hours.
According to multiple sources for Kotaku UK, the announcement of Dark Souls Remastered will reportedly be revealed at the end of the Nintendo Direct Mini, making it the first time the game will be on a handheld system with Switch along with releases on PS4, Xbox One, and PC that should be announced afterwards.
The remaster is reported to feature rebuilt lighting and SFX based on Dark Souls 3 along with upscaled texture. Multiplayer is also said to be expanded to support six concurrent players.
And lastly, one source indicates that there are plans to bring all three Dark Souls games to Switch eventually.
The Dark Souls remaster is expected to launch in May on all platforms. As always, we’ll be taking this with a grain of salt, but if rumors are true, it shouldn’t be long until we get some kind of announcement from Nintendo.
