First unveiled during the Paris Games Week Sony livestream, Famitsu had some more information to share regarding the Rotten Vale, one of Monster Hunter: World’s new hunting fields. [Thanks, Famitsu]
Rotten Vale is a valley full of corpses and bones which the various scavengers of the ecosystem feed on. It is a mystical looking place covered with fungus strands and pools of acid. The ‘Miasma’ bacteria that feed on organic matter is unique to the Vale. The Miasma infested monsters become extra violent and even the Rafinosu, usually docile, will attack the hunter on sight.
Odogaron:
A monster that circles the valley for corpses. It won’t hesitate to attack other monsters, and has a habit of bringing its prey back to its nest.
Radobaan:
It feeds on the bones of corpses in the Rotten Vale, and also covers itself with them. They have been seen to curl themselves up and attack others by rolling into them.
Great Girros:
The pack leader of the Girros, monsters who eat prey that fall down from the Coral Highlands. Their large teeth contain paralyzing venom which they use on their prey. The individual Girros also have paralyzing teeth and hunt as a group. Be careful not to be surrounded, as the Miasma has increased their aggressiveness.
Legiana:
A monster from the Coral Highlands that appears near Rafinosu in order to hunt them by slowing their movements down using freezing air.
Gathering Hall:
Famitsu also had some more to share on the Gathering Hall of the game. There can be up to 16 players in a room at the Gathering Hall. Hunters can interact in various ways, including arm wrestling. Most offline facilities can be accessed here online as well.
