It’s no secret that the Nintendo Switch’s sales have performed extremely well, even exceeding Nintendo’s own expectations, as Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime recently noted in an interview. Now, some new statistics really put into perspective how well the Switch has done for Nintendo’s sales.

According to analyst Mat Piscatella from market research company NPD, physical software sales for the Switch in the United States “are on pace to be the biggest ever for a Nintendo platform launch year since ’95, by a fairly large margin.” Considering that sales only started being tracked in 1995, this shows that the Switch and its software sales are performing better than Nintendo could have hoped.
