People who own Yo-kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits or Fleshy Souls may want to pop back into the game today. Nintendo has just released the Oni Evolution Update that brings the games up to version 2.0. This adds new content to the games and makes it possible to link with or transfer save data to Yo-kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters.

Once the Oni Evolution Update is downloaded, Yo-kai Watch 2 owners with Bony Spirits or Fleshy Souls will see an immediate difference. Beating the game will give Bony Spirits owners the opportunity to recruit Jibanyan S and Fleshy Souls owners Komasan S. (Psychic Specters gets Komajiro S.) The Psychic Blasters Mode will be available in the game, bringing with it new bosses. Rubeus J comes from connecting with Bony Spirits and Hardy Hound with Fleshy Spirits. When linking up with another game, either alone or with a friend, you can meet and get new Yo-kai. Linking up all three makes it possible to get Dianyn, Emenyan, Sapphinyan, Moximous K, Moximous N, or Orcanos. Linking Psychic Specters and Bony Spirits could make Gargaros or Rubinyan available. Linking Psychic Specters and Fleshy Souls can make Ogralus or Topanyan available.

The save data transfer process has been explained or detailed. After grabbing the Oni Evolution Update for either Yo-kai Watch: Bony Spirits or Fleshy Souls and a copy of Psychic Specters, you choose the “Export Data” option from the main menu. Transfer data will be saved to your Nintendo 3DS SD card. Then, when you go to Psychic Specters, you choose the “Import Data” option to bring over your save file. This brings over your story progress, Yo-kai data, and version-exclusive quests, but not your random multiplayer battles.

Yo-kai Watch 2: Bony Spirits and Fleshy Souls are available for the Nintendo 3DS. Yo-kai Watch 2: Psychic Specters will come to the Nintendo 3DS on September 29, 2017.
