Bandai Namco provided new information on Code Vein in this week’s issue of Famitsu’s magazine, including a reveal of a new character named Io who looked exactly like God Eater’s Shio.
Code Vein’s character creation features high-end voice talents that include many who voiced main characters from various works. Customization options include face shape, pupil size, luster, and such in high detail.
Here are a couple new characters:
Louis (CV: Kaito Ishikawa): A young leader who researches day and night for a way to save the Revenant.
Io (CV: Lynn): A revenant who accompanies the protagonist. She lost all of her memories, but is full of knowledge for Revenants and Vein. She also looks exactly like Shio from God Eater.
We also got some information on Code Vein’s system. First, players can equip up to two weapons at a time. These can be changed without needing to open a menu. Equipment can be changed at anytime by using the menu.
Characters level up with a parameter that goes up with experience points. Its UI is simple and small.
A new combat system called “Blood Feeding” has also been revealed. When active, players get an increase in blood and stock numbers, as well as a big boost in damage output.
Another new system called “Focus System” accumulates its meter when you’re in a pinch. When activated, you can perform co-op moves, combos, and transfer HP with your buddy character. In addition to combos, the game has action elements such as back-attacks and parrying.
Code Vein releases in early 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
