Dragon Quest XI Sales Surpass Two Million In Japan In Just Two Days

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age released in Japan on July 29 and in just two days it sold an estimate of over two million copies between the PS4 and 3DS versions in Japan going by Famitsu’s numbers.

 

In the two days of July 29-30, Famitsu shows a total sales figure of 2,080,806 units with the Nintendo 3DS version selling 1,130,468 units and the PlayStation 4 version selling 950,338 units.

 

The total includes sales from the Dragon Quest XI Double Pack Hero’s Sword Box as well as the New Nintendo 2DS LL Dragon Quest Liquid Metal Slime Edition, but it does not include digital sales.

As expected, Famitsu shows that the Dragon Quest XI also helped move a lot of hardware. The Nintendo 3DS family saw a x4.4 increase from last week’s 28,831 with 126,790 units sold. As for the PlayStation 4, it saw a 3.4 increase going from last week’s 27,350 to 93,954 units sold. Going by Famitsu’s numbers, the PlayStation 4 hardware sales in Japan has reached a new milestone with 5,006,579 units sold in three years and five months since launch.

 

Dragon Quest XI is available in Japan for Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation 4. The game is headed Westward in 2018.
