Last week, Japan had four big releases with Tekken 7 leading the way, followed by Seiken Densetsu Collection, Tsukitomo. –Tsukuita. 12 Memories-, and Death Mark. Japanese sales tracker Media Create shares a look at software and hardware sales data from the week of May 29 through June 4, 2017.

#1 of the week goes to Tekken 7, which sold 58,736 copies on PlayStation 4. While it may not have sold as much as the series’ previous entry Tekken Tag Tournament 2 that sold 62,630 copies in its debut week back in September 2012 or the previous main-numbered entry that sold 103,105 copies in its first week on October 2009, Tekken 7 sold enough to take the top spot of the week by a wide margin, and it’s one of best numbers we’ve seen out of any fighting game in recent history.

At #2 we have Seiken Densetsu Collection, which sold 29,564 copies for Nintendo Switch in its debut. Those are pretty good numbers for a game that’s mostly a collection of three classic titles, but definitely a welcomed one in the Switch library.

The next new title is Tsukitomo. –Tsukiuta. 12 Memories-, the love simulation game on PlayStation Vita, at #4 with 12,763 units sold in its debut, quite respectable for any PS Vita otome game, or any kind of visual novel-style game these days. And finally, at #8 we have Experience’s latest mystery horror visual novel Death Mark with 7,099 copies sold on its first week for PS Vita.

Hardware saw a slight drop across most Nintendo platforms and a little increase across Sony’s with the release of Tekken 7 on PS4 and the two new PS Vita titles. The PS3 also saw a small increase, which likely has something to do with its production being recently discontinued in Japan. The Nintendo Switch sold 23,524 copies, which puts it at 925,658 units sold to date in Japan going by Media Create’s numbers.
