Gravity Rush 2’s release is just around the corner, and series director Keiichiro Toyama shared a bit on the upcoming Raven DLC and what’s next for the series and team in this week’s issue of Famitsu magazine. [Thanks, Game Jouhou.]

On Gravity Rush 2: Another Story – The Ark of Time: Raven’s Choice

Keiichiro Toyama, Director: It’s the story that takes place at the ending of the previous game, with the ark and children. There were plans to throw it into the main game, but since it’s a part that requires playing the previous game to understand, we’ve decided to offer it as additional content. Playing leisurely will get you about 5 hours of gameplay.

On what’s next for the series

Toyama: It’s currently a blank sheet. Since there’s a sense that we’ve already used up everything we’ve had, if we do something next [for the series] then I want it to be something new. For example, if there’s new hardware that allows for a new way of expression, then perhaps it’ll make us want to make something.

Any plans to make a new game with the same team?

The team is currently in great condition, so we’re looking into a new title that can carry on that greatness. I haven’t thought of any content for it at all, but it won’t be that different from the direction we’ve had up until now, and I believe its genre will be action adventure.

Gravity Rush 2 releases in Japan on January 19, Europe on January 18, and North America on January 20, 2017 for PlayStation 4.
