Sony Interactive Entertainment announced today that the PlayStation 4 console is now at 53.4 million in global sales after a strong 2016 holiday season that saw the console sell over 6.2 million units.
According to Sony, PlayStation 4 software sold through 50.4 million units over the same 2016 holiday season period with 8.7 million in global sales coming from Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End as of January 1. The 50.4 million in software sales includes both retail and digital downloads on PlayStation Store as of January 1, 2017.

The PlayStation 4 system is currently available in 123 countries and regions worldwide.
