Square Enix shared a sneak peek of Dragon Quest XI with some in-development footage during a recent NHK program for Dragon Quest’s 30th anniversary today. Here’s a look at some footage from the show. [Thanks, Game Jouhou.]
The above video takes us behind the scenes with a look at the RPG’s latest work.
The above screenshot shows a camping area, where you can rest to recover HP and MP. It also has an option for “Mysterious Smithing,” “Pray to Goddess,” and “Patrol.”
Next there’s a menu that shows a variety of weapons, in this case, a bunch of swords, that you can create. This menu appears to be one for smithing, as it requires the right material to make the weapon, as well as a degree of difficulty.
We also got some more looks at the game, with a glimpse of battle and a little on a flying dragon mount. [Thanks, NeoGAF.]
And finally, here’s a look at Yuji Horii’s sweet work area, which is actually a modified part of an apartment to put him completely in the Dragon Quest zone while brainstorming.
Dragon Quest XI releases in 2017 for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo 3DS. The game is also in development for Nintendo Switch.
