CrisTales has players acting as a young girl in a beautiful kingdom, one the players will see through a split view that shows past, present , and future all at the same time. By taking actions in the present that are informed by what’s happened in the past, the player can make changes to the future.
CrisTales’ time mechanic is shown through splitting the screen into three parts, so players will see the past on the left, the present in the middle, and the past on the right. As the player walks, they can observe time’s shifting in real time on each part of the screen, watching a young child shift to an adult and then to an elder as they walk.
Players will have to learn what the people of the world need without words, as all communication is handled through cute pictures of the characters interacting with each other.
No details exist for the game save for its trailer and a private demo that was submitted to the Independent Games Festival. This site lists the developer as SYCK, but there is no information about the game on the developer’s site.
