Level-5 revealed during their big event last night that they’re taking on their first otome game challenge with Otome Hero, an upcoming free-to-play smartphone game developed by hand.
The game features character designs by Kurahana Chinatsu, who previously worked at Nitro + Chiral and is now a freelance artist. Its animation will be handled by A-1 Pictures, and we can expect to see more from it in the forms of anime and manga.
Otome Hero, or Otmé Hero if we go by the recently filed trademark in Europe, revolves around the 24 Slayers that you’ll get to pick as a partner at the start. From there, you’ll create teams of three Slayers to participate in real-time battles that will have you compete in a race to defeat monsters quicker than your rivals for the win.
As the player in Otome Hero, you’ll use items and activate skills as you support the Slayers. By getting closer to the Slayers, you’ll also get to see different sides to them as well.
Here are some screens from the animation by A-1 Pictures:
Otome Hero will launch in Japan in Winter 2016 for Android and iPhone.
