We’ve seen how Koei Tecmo is putting a lot of value into fan feedback for the development of Nioh, and director Fumihiko Yasuda shared more with Siliconera about some of their future plans.

Following our earlier talk about how Yasuda and Team Ninja are working on a new online feature that involves mixing in friendly online players and enemies in a spirit world, we mentioned that it sounded like they’re going to support Nioh with additional post-release content.

“Ah, you picked up on that. [Laughs] After we had the alpha and received a lot of feedback we were able to expand a lot of features,” Yasuda shared. We will be releasing another version, the beta, in August.”

He continued, “based on that we’re going to have more feedback and we’re going to take that into account for the release version. The way that we’ve been developing this game is that we keep taking in user feedback and keep improving and expanding on the game. Even post-release our hope is to continue to do so.”

Nioh will release in 2016 for PlayStation 4. We’ll have more from Yasuda-san later. Meanwhile, you can check out the game’s E3 2016 trailer and more here.
