Square Enix has provided the latest details on Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV, the upcoming CGI feature film that will release prior to the game.
Nyx Ulric
The protagonist of Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV, and a member of the “Kingsglaive” that works directly under the King. During his childhood, Nyx was saved by King Regis in the middle of war, and has since then felt a debt of gratitude towards the man. He excels in battle and has a high affinity for the magical power of the royal family.
Lunafreya Nox Fleuret
Luna is an Oracle who is able to speak with the Gods and will be using this power to purify the world. The moments she spent with Noctis during their childhood are her cherished memories.
She was supposed to get marred to Noctis in Altissia, but went to the imperial capital of Insomnia to make an agreement with King Lucis instead.
Drautos
The commander of the Kingsglaive guards. Drautos is very hard on himself and others, and values those who put in a lot of effort into what they do. He is Nyx’s master figure when it comes to battles.
Libertus Ostium
Libertus is Nyx’s close friend and they also share hometowns. He has a bright personality to go with a strong sense of responsibility, but he can be emotional and a bit stubborn at times.
Luche Lazarus
Luche considers himself as the leader of the Kingsglaive, but it’s not one-sided, as he’s gained the trust of his comrades from his intelligence.
Crowe Altius
A user of grand magics, Crowe is able to use a few special abilities. She grew up as an orphan by the borders of Lucis. She considers the members of Kingsglaive as her own family.
Here’s a look at some more of what we’ll see in the upcoming film:
Ahriman and other familiar monsters from the Final Fantasy series will appear in Kingsglaive.
We’ll get to see magic along with the “Shift” ability where a weapon is thrown and then warped to.

The Kingsglaive guard is organized with a focus around immigrants. While there are some that criticize them, they accomplish their duties with pride.
Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV will launch in 2016, sometime before the game releases. It’ll get a theatrical release in Japan on July 9, 2016.
