The Pokémon Company recently revealed Pokémon Comaster, a F2P smartphone game with strategic board game elements and collectible figures. The game is now available to try out in Japan on Android. [Thanks, Serebii.]
Pokémon Comaster is a board game where you get to select various figures and the goal is to take over the board using your figures against your opponent’s figures. It’s a free-to-play title that allows you to purchase diamond in order to get better figures and items.
There are various rarities for the figures, with Charizard, Venusaur, Dialga, and Palkia among the rarest, and they all have a 0.5% chance of appearing from a single pack. The Rare figures have a 1.5% chance of appearing, and the Ultra Common figures have a 7.16 to 7.17% chance of appearing.
You can level up these figures through gameplay, and similar to the trading figure game, attacks are done by spinning and the damage is determined by where the figure lands.
Pokémon Comaster is available in Japan for Android. You need Android 2.3.3 or higher to run it, and it requires 41MB for its initial install. The iOS version is expected to launch soon. You can check out its announcement trailer in our earlier report.
