Falcom revealed the latest on their upcoming PS4 and PS Vita action RPG, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana, with new characters and other details in this week’s issue of Dengeki PlayStation. [Thanks, Game Jouhou.]
Dogi (CV: Kenta Miyake)
26 years of age. Adol’s partner, who traveled around the world with him four years ago. They say that he’ll take on the role of gathering on the drifting village, so he won’t be a party member this time around.
Barbaros (CV: Hirohiko Kakegawa)
Captaion of The Lombardia. 46 years old. Contrary to his daring looks, he’s more of a gentlemanly character.
Here are some system details:
- By meeting more castaway characters on Drifting Village, you’ll activate “Support Events.” By having certain sub-characters in your party, the Support Events will unlock new areas. There are over 20 sub-characters.
- You can develop the Driving Village to expand and add more residents, which also adds various facilities.
- There’s a tower defense-like feature to stop beasts that are attacking.
And finally, we got details on a Premium Box for the PS Vita version going for 8,800 yen. It features an original DLC of “Adol’s Battle Armor” (first Ys’ Silver Armor outfit), ancient book “Adol Manuscript” (Japanese translated version), and an Ys limited metal plate.
Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana will release in Japan on July 21, 2016 for PlayStation Vita with a mini-soundtrack as a first-print bonus. The PlayStation 4 version will release in 2017.
