Spike Chunsoft and tri-Ace’s upcoming “side-View” RPG Exist Archive has a variety of characters that gain immortality from an evil deity, that lands them in trouble with the gods. The latest trailer introduces us to the protagonist Kujo Kanata.
The video starts out with Kujo crashed out and remembering the heroine Ranze back when they were kids and how she says “we’ll be together ‘until death does us apart’ do you know what that means?”
“Yeah, I know what that means. It means we’ll be together until we die, right?” Kujo responds.
“You don’t get it! Ugh, you’re my fiancé, so get it together!”
This is followed by the present day Ranze saying “I don’t want to die with you,” which was a line that was said in the earlier trailer, where we got to see the two apparently dying from a giant explosion in Tokyo.
Afterwards, Mitsuhide Yasakata finds him crashed out and Koharu Nagi gives him a scolding for being asleep.
Kujo ends this bit by saying that he felt that he could keep things the way they were like that, and it wasn’t Yamatoga or Amatsume’s fault. It was simply realized that something changed at that time. Changed before he could even realize.
While the passage from the video may sound a bit cryptic, it sounds like there was a lot going on before and after the moment they’ve become immortal from the evil deity.
Exist Archive will release in Japan on December 17, 2015 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita.
