The PlayStation 4 version of the Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster had two issues with the game that weren’t present in the PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, or Vita versions of the game. The biggest being that random battles in the PS4 version of Final Fantasy X weren’t. The RNG (random number generator) was set from the moment the game begin, meaning every encounter would be predetermined with the same enemies and course of action. Square Enix is aware of the problem and confirmed on Facebook that it is preparing a patch.

The Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD Remaster patch will also fix another problem found in the PS4 collection. In both Final Fantasy X and X-2, there is an issue with the music. If you are in the field and enter into one of these not-so random battles, the field track will start over from the beginning once the battle has ended. In the other versions of the game, the song would pause when an encounter began and resume once it finished.

Square Enix has not set a release date for the PlayStation 4 Final Fantasy X|X-2 HD patch.
