5pb. announced that they’re working on a new remake project of the sci-fi visual novel YU-NO: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of this World, and the developers recently opened a new official website for the game, with some additional details.
YU-NO: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of this World by Hiroyuki Kanno was originally a visual novel title for Sega Saturn, PC-9801, and PC back in 1996-97. The upcoming remake project is being led by Makoto Asada and his Division 8 studio.
While the graphics and UI of the remake will be improved and different from the original version, Asada says that the scenario will be about 95% untouched, and the only bits they’ll touch up on are the parts that had problems, and just need small fixes.
Again, they have no intention of adding any cultural changes to it that better suits the current generation, as Asada feels that they shouldn’t ruin the worldview that was given by Hiryuki Kanno’s original work.
Here’s a look at some of the character art shown on the new website.

5pb. have yet to announce which platform the YU-NO: A Girl Who Chants Love at the Bound of this World’s remake will be for, and it still doesn’t have a release date, but it seems like we’ll hear more about it in the near future.
