Bandai Namco released Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme Vs. Full Boost last year for PlayStation 3, and the game is still getting new features through DLC and updates. Here’s a look at the upcoming Ver. 1.08 update that will bring new Mobile Suits as DLCs and additional features.
Full Armor Unicorn Gundam (from Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn):
Avalanche Exia (from Mobile Suit Gundam 00V):
Char Exclusive Zaku II (from Mobile Suit Gundam):
Gundam Sandrock Kai (from Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz):
All four Mobile Suit units are available as part of the Ver. 1.08 update, and will go for 476 yen plus tax.
The update will also implement “GP” or Game Points into the game, which can be used to purchase some of the DLC that you’d normally have to pay for otherwise. The modes that you can acquire GP in are of the following: Arcade (online play,) Ranked Match, Player Match, and also from a login bonus for playing any of the mentioned modes in addition to the FB Missions.
By using GP, you’ll get to take DLC Mobile Suits for a test drive in Arcade (online/offline) and Player Matches. As long as you keep winning, you can keep using the machines, but once you lose or leave, they will no longer be available.
On the other hand, gauge designs and navigational characters can be purchased using GP, and they can be kept for good.
The Quick Match mode will no longer be available, but it will be replaced by the One Match. It’s a one-shot fight that doesn’t keep track of any records. The results won’t have anything to do with the rankings, leader board, or player data, so you can use it to just practice or have fun.
Additionally, there’s an option to take off battle records in Player Matches.
The update brings various other additions, such as adjustments to custom messages, players can now save up to six favorite Mobile Suits, and can look at the win/loss records of all of them, too.
A new camera will also be added to the Replay Camera, so you can get a better look at all the action from various angles.
Mobile Suit Gundam: Extreme Vs. Full Boost’s 1.08 update will launch in Japan on May 28, 2015.
