GungHo Online Entertainment and Nintendo have announced Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition for the Nintendo 3DS. The game will be released in Japan on April 29th and will combine Mario characters with Puzzle & Dragons gameplay.

 

Additionally, GungHo have confirmed that there are plans for Nintendo to publish Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition in the West. We’ll have further details on the Western release once they’re made available.

 

Puzzle & Dragons began as a free-to-play game on smartphones, and has over 32 million downloads in Japan alone. Following the success of the smartphone game, GungHo developed Puzzle & Dragons Z, an RPG for the Nintendo 3DS, which shipped over 1.5 million copies.
