Acquire recently announced a new game for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, called Absolute Interception Wars: Metropolis Defenders, that will have you control a city to take on giant monsters. Famitsu gives us a closer look at the upcoming title.
As previously reported, the game will have you in control of an “Interception City” that is armed with all kinds of gadgets used to take on enemies as part of a strategy game. It’s similar to a tower-defense game, but with a little twist.
The Interception City has four parts that are divided into rings, and you’ll basically spin them around like a turntable to take on incoming enemy units. So instead of stacking outwards, you’ll help build onto the ring and use it to beat the giant enemies.
During intervals of the “Interception Phase,” there will be a city development phase, which is when the city can be upgraded. This is when you’ll use armament units to build and enhance the city to prepare for the next attack.
The above is a look at two key characters in Lovelock, the handsome man who isn’t exactly the brightest, but always remains optimistic and loves gadgets. He’s always asking himself “what does it mean to be cool?”
Then there’s Towa, who is unlike Lovelock, a strategist. She’s a vice-commander who can easily read two or three moves ahead of time in battle situations, and knows how to adapt to circumstances.
She also loves cake and reading. Her dream is to one day become a beautiful bride, and feels that she’s almost getting to that age where she should probably find someone to settle down with, soon.
Absolute Interception Wars: Metropolis Defenders is in development for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.
