Following magazine reports from Japan, The Pokémon Company has officially announced the existence of Mega Latios and Mega Latias in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. As previously mentioned, you will be able to hop onto the back of either Pokémon to fly over the world of Hoenn, and will also be able to perform tricks in mid-air.

This new method of travel is called “Soar” and provides access to areas called Mirage Spots, where you can find rare and legendary Pokémon, as well as valuable items. Judging by additional information on the games’ official website, it sounds like you will be able to fly freely nearly anywhere.

Latios will be exclusive to Pokémon Omega Ruby while Latias will be exclusive to Alpha Sapphire. However, later this year, players will be able to obtain the Eon Ticket, which will make both legendaries available in the other version of the game, by allowing you to access the Hoenn region’s Southern Island area and find them there. More details on the Eon Ticket will be shared later.

As previously reported, in addition to Latios and Latias, Pidgeot and Beedrill will both have Mega Evolutions in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be available on November 21st in North America and November 28th in Europe.
