In Lost Dimension, you’ll take control of 11 members of S.E.A.L.E.D., all who have their own unique abilities and personalities. To give you a better idea on how the battles work, here’s a look at two videos depicting simple tutorial fights and the main mission.

The above video shows a tutorial stage on how the game is played, starting with the player phase demonstrating attacks and a look at Himeno Akatsuki showing her Gift to Sho for the first time.

After defeating the enemies, the group gets together, and this is where you’ll be able to share conversations with different members of S.E.A.L.E.D. You can get to know them better and learn more about recent events.

This second video shows a look at a main quest scenario. This time, it won’t be as easy as the tutorial stage, and will require character Gifts and range be taken into consideration. Some characters act as support types, so their attacking order will also be worth noting.

The “Assist” is a feature that lets characters automatically join in on the attack. For this reason, strategic placement is an important factor in taking on enemies in Lost Dimension.

Another special feature is the “Refer” feature that allows you to select one character to give their turn to another party member. This can be helpful for when you have one character who is barely out of range, and you have an extra support character in the back with a free turn.

Each member of S.E.A.L.E.D. has his or her own unique abilities. You can read up more about them in our earlier report to get a better idea. When the battle is over, each character gets their stats shown for kills, assists, and refers.

Lost Dimension is slated for release in Japan on August 7, 2014 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.
