At Nintendo’s 74th Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, the company’s managing director, Shigeru Miyamoto, was questioned about the future of the Legend of Zelda franchise. While Miyamoto would not comment on the upcoming Wii U game, he did discuss the future of the series in other ways.

“At this point, there are a few titles under development in ‘The Legend of Zelda’ series, so please look forward to their completion,” Miyamoto stated. He then went on to explain that the new Wii U Zelda is an open-world game and Hyrule Warriors is an action game.

Following those two games, Miyamoto briefly discussed A Link Between Worlds, and how the goal with that game was to gradually begin changing the structure of the Zelda series.

Finally, Miyamoto stated: “In addition to that, we have ideas for Nintendo 3DS which we have not announced yet, so I hope you will look forward to them.”
