Arc System Works recently revealed that Guilty Gear Xrd –SIGN- boss character Ramlethal Valentine will be a playable character in the arcade game’s next update. 4Gamer gives us a closer look at the versatile character, who will be playable when the update hits this April.

Ramlethal originally appeared as a boss character in the arcade mode of Guilty Gear Xrd, and she’s also a key part to the story.

Those of you who’ve played Guilty Gear 2: Overture might recognize Ramlethal’s last name “Valentine” from another character by the same name in the Xbox 360 game. In the above screen shot with Sol and the others, he notices the energy and mentions that it could possibly be another Valentine.

Here’s a look at Ramlethal using her familiar to pull off an attack with her two swords connected as one. She’ll have the ability to pull off various attacks using the sword in its single and dual-sword modes.

While her single-sword mode packs quite a punch to go with a long reach, it’ll be a little slower, which can leave her open to punishes. However, she won’t only be relying on her sword, so you might want to watch out for other tricks Ramlethal might have up her sleeve.

Her special grab move is just one of her many tricks, which can be used together as a combo with her great sword, making her excel at damaging and pressuring opponents.

And if that wasn’t enough, she can also shoot giant lasers from her sword. It’s a given that you’d take a lot of damage from a direct hit, but even guarding it has its risks, as well.

Arc System Works also shares a little info on the play data log, where you’ll be able to check out your stats on your profile, which will indicate your stats on different modes, rankings, the number of times you land various moves and specials, and the number of times you’ve used them.

This arcade feature is used through the Guilty Gear Xrd Player’s Guild “R-Code” system, where you can register and use it as a nice way to check out what moves you seem to excel at and what you could brush up on to become a better fighter. The console version will likely have something similar built into the game.

As an extra bonus, the Player’s Guild offers a voice comment system, where you can select different voice comments for each time you login to your account. You can even set your birthday on it, so you can hear Sol wish you a happy birthday!

Guilty Gear Xrd –SIGN- is currently out on Japanese arcades, and the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 versions will be released later this year.
