We recently got a look at Theatrhythm: Curtain Call’s Final Fantasy Type-0 characters, along with other new features such as the “Daily Feature” that picks songs at random for more experience. Now, Square Enix have shared a look at the game’s Versus and Quest Medley modes in action.
The above is a look at Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call’s new versus mode, where we get to see some competitive action with the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children version of Jenova’s theme.
At around 0:37, we see one of the players charge up his EX meter and change the other player’s rhythm icons into skulls for a negative effect.
You can play against other players through local and Internet connectivity, in a 1-on-1 fight, where you’ll be judged by the score. If you run out of health, it’ll recover on its own, but at the cost of some of your points.
If you go against CPU, you’ll be going against multiple opponents and will rank up from bronze, silver, to gold.
Above is a look at a video showing the game’s Quest Medley mode, where you’ll be playing through different maps and songs to clear the area and fight the boss.
The quests come in short, middle, and long varieties. Upon clearing a map, you’ll also be able to trade them with other players through StreetPass.
Quest Medley will also have unique features such as the Tent item that allows you to advance extra steps, which increases your experience gained. There will also be locked bosses that will require keys to open.
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call is slated for release on April 24th, 2014 for Nintendo 3DS in Japan.
