Sure, Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors wasn’t the first game to come up with the escape the room concept. Crimson Room popularized the genre in Japan and then the Escape Trick series from Intense put players in all kinds of situations like escaping an convenience store.
That being said, Escape Trick: The Five Dangerous, Secret Rooms does it’s best impression of Zero Escape. The downloadable 3DS game puts you in the shoes of Kentaro Sagara who wakes up sealed in a room after falling asleep from drinking too much. A voice tells Kentaro he’s a player in a trap filled game and the goal is to escape.
For more about Escape Trick: The Five Dangerous, Secret Rooms check out our earlier report. While the game has not been announced for the West, a couple of Escape Trick games have been localized so there’s a fair chance we’ll see The Five Dangerous, Secret Rooms in English.
