There are still many questions surrounding the two protagonists of Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky, especially the mysterious Logy who seems to be able to fight using both swords and alchemy. Dengeki sat down with two writers of the Atelier series to talk about Gust’s white-haired hero.

The two from Gust were only named as Deep (who loves Wilbell enough to call her ‘his wife’) and Writer M. They weren’t allowed to reveal too much, but they gave their own input along with little clues on what to expect.

Dengeki had a lot to talk about Logy and his appearances. They point out that most main characters in the Atelier series don’t exactly look like your traditional RPG heroes, but Logy fits that description. Deep also stated that Logy’s clothing gives him the appearance of one who lives in the wilderness.

One of the big questions was with regard to how exactly will Logy be using alchemy combined with his sword. It’s been said that he can fully use alchemy, but it hasn’t been revealed as to what extent he can use it and how it will come into play in his combat style with his sword.

Deep also touched on a popular subject that’s been circulating around the internet about Escha and Logy = Eschatology (In Japanese it could also be read as Escha To Logy, which would mean Escha and Logy), which comes from the Greek words Eschatos (last) and Logy (the study of). He didn’t confirm the reason behind their names but he said he believes that Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk didn’t exactly have the ambience of the word ‘dusk’ but expects it to fully stand out in Escha and Logy’s upcoming adventure.

Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky is slated to be released on June 27 for PlayStation 3.
