"Dungeons" in Square Enix’s transforming car RPG, Gyrozetter: Wings of the Albatross, are streets you race on. You can drive around a track in vehicle mode, which plays kind of like a racing game. Generally, Gyrozetters move faster in vehicle (read: car) mode, but terrain like snowy or muddy roads affects how fast you move. Wagon type cars are better at handling rough terrain than sports cars.
You gain experience points for drifting and boost meter energy. Boosting gives you a temporary speed bump like using a mushroom in Super Mario Kart and also shakes off any enemies.
Gyrozetter: Wings of the Albatross lets players shift into Gyro (read: robot) mode at any time. There’s a little button on the touch screen to transform. When you need to move vertically up a map by climbing or if you spot a treasure chest you want to switch into Gyro mode. You can also body slam into enemies to do a preemptive attack against enemy mechas. While you’re in Gyro mode your speed is the same regardless of the terrain.
Gyrozetter: Wings of the Albatross is slated for release on June 13 for Nintendo 3DS.
