Ex-WayForward Developers Announce Shovel Knight For PC, 3DS, Wii U

Yacht Club Games consists of developers that previously worked at WayForward Technologies. Started in 2011, the studio is comprised of ex-WayForward staff that worked on games like Contra 4, A Boy and His Blob, Thor: God of Thunder, Mighty Milky Way, BloodRayne Betrayal, and Double Dragon Neon. Their first original title is called Shovel Knight:

Shovel Knight is described as an 8-bit game inspired by Mega Man, Castlevania and Dark Souls. You play as the ShovelBlade wielding Shovel Knight, who has two goals: to defeat the evil Enchantress and save his lost beloved. The game is being funded via Kickstarter and is in development for PC, with Nintendo 3DS and Wii U versions to follow.

 

Shovel Knight’s Kickstarter goal is $75,000. As of now, the game is a little over $27,000 in contributions with 26 days left to go before the deadline. You can read more about the game and its development here.
