The PC version of Resident Evil 6 will have a new mode called “The Mercenaries: No Mercy,” Capcom have announced. This mode will see more enemies on-screen than in the console versions and the opportunity to rack up higher scores.
Resident Evil 6 on PC will be released on February 22nd in North America and Europe. The PC version will come with the improvements that were patched into the console version. This includes:
- Access to Ada Wong’s campaign and the ability to play it co-op
- Fine-tuning to the in-game camera
Additionally, more downloadable modes are headed to both the console and PC versions of Resident Evil 6 in the future. Siege, an online mode for 2-6 players, will have two teams fighting over an AI-controlled BSAA rookie. One team (consisting of enemy creatures) will attempt to kill him while the other team (consisting of BSAA agents) needs to protect him. The teams will alternate between the two roles every round.
Siege mode will be available for download in March for consoles, while PC will get it shortly after March 22nd. It will cost 320MSP/$3.99/€3.99/£3.19. You can take a look at it in the video embedded at the top of this report.
Meanwhile, the Survivors, Predator and Onslaught game modes will be added to the PlayStation 3 and PC versions of the game as well. The PlayStation 3 will get these modes in February, while PC will get them shortly after March 22nd. These modes will cost $3.99/€3.99/£3.19 each. All three are already available for the Xbox 360.
Food for thought:
Earlier this week, Capcom said to be on the lookout for Mercenaries-related news for Resident Evil on consoles next week. Unless they have further announcements to make, this is likely the news they were referring to.
