Famitsu magazine leaks teased earlier in the week that Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon had some sort of Internet support, but because of how the report was worded, we weren’t sure whether or not that referred specifically to online multiplayer. It turns out, it does. Nintendo have confirmed that Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon will have a multiplayer Hunter Mode, which you can play with other players worldwide. Take a look:
Update: Nintendo have released details on the multiplayer mode. In Hunter Mode, each player controls a different-coloured Luigi, and together they hunt down ghosts to clear each floor of the ScareScraper tower before time runs out. Bonuses and upgrades are earned depending on how well the team performs.
If one of the team members dies, he can be revived by his teammates. The number of floors can be chosen, ranging from five, 10 or 25. The difficulty can be selected as well, and each tower ends in a boss battle.
Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon is slated for release on March 24th in North America.
