Japanese game developer Intense specializes in making "escape the room" genre of games. The Escape Trick series throws players in haunted hospitals and abandoned schools, but I prefer the escape scenarios where you’re locked in a convenience store for some odd reason. @Simple DL Series Volume 6 – Escape Trick: Play Paradise Kumadonaru Bowling Chapter has a wacky setup.
So, you hear an idol group will have a concert at the Kumadonaru Bowling Center, the largest entertainment complex in your region, and you decide to get a part time job there to catch the show. Instead of working at the concert you have to sweep the bowling alley on the day of the event. Bummer. Then you spot a young girl… wait is that one of the idols, A-chan? Yes, it is! Oh, she’s lost well maybe you can take the elevator and escort her to the concert…
… wait the button isn’t working? Now, you’re trapped with an idol in this giant arcade complex and instead of playing a Guitar Freaks clone together you have to escape.
Like other escape the room games you have to gather items and solve puzzles to complete the game. Intense added an in-game notebook so players can jot down notes and included five difficulty levels that give different hints.
Parts of the game use the 3DS’ gyroscope…
… and microphone too.
Escape Trick: Play Paradise Kumadonaru Bowling Chapter comes out in Japan as a Nintendo eShop download on November 14 for 500 yen ($6.20).
