Famitsu has a bunch of new screenshots from Project X Zone showcasing the ally and rival characters announced last night. Check out Alisa’s Rocket Punch attack and Seth’s Tanden Typhoon below.
Ally Characters
Batsu (Rival Schools): Aerial Super Guts Bullet
Vashyron (Resonance of Fate): Continuing Pursuit
Alisa (Tekken): Rocket Punch
Neneko (Yumeria): Calamity Ripper
Rival Characters
Heihachi (Tekken): Onigawara (Ogre Tile)
Skeith (.hack): Data Drain
Juri (Street Fighter): Kaisen Dankairaku
Seth (Street Fighter): Tanden Typhoon
Jedah Dohma (Darkstalkers): Prova di Servo
Riemsianne La Vaes (Shining Force EXA): Purgatory’s Hellfire
Aya-me (Sakura Wars): Gouma Summon
So, how do you defend against Jedah Dohma’s Prova di Servo? Project X Zone gives you four options depending on how many cross points (XP) you have.
Counterattack reduces the number of attacks and lets you strike back if you’re in range. You have to spend 20% of your XP (cross points, not experience) to do trigger this option.
Defend halves damage and shields friendly units from status abnormalities, but also costs 20% of your XP.
Perfect Defense reduces damage to zero and protects against status abnormalities at the cost of 60% of your XP.
Or you can do nothing. This costs 0 XP, but you take full damage. As a consolation prize you get a 5% XP boost after an enemy unit pummels your characters. I suppose aggressive players who want to stock XP might want to go for this option.
Project X Zone comes out on October 11 in Japan.
