Remember Square Enix’s Gyrozetter? They announced their brand new Transformers-like franchise late last year, revealing that they had big plans to take it in all sorts of directions, including games, anime, manga and toys. Why Transformers? Because Gyrozetter has cars that transforms into robots, and the arcade game’s cabinets themselves transform as well.

Gyrozetter isn’t just an arcade game, though. You may recall that Square Enix also announced a Nintendo 3DS version of the game. Today, they revealed that the 3DS version will take place in the same world as the rest of the franchise, but will have its own story and is being labelled an RPG. Take a look at screenshots of the game below:

Gyrozetter for the Nintendo 3DS will be released sometime in Spring 2013. Square Enix say the game will feature online play. Meanwhile, the arcade version of Gyrozetter will be released on June 21st, 2012.

Incidentally, in case you forgot, Square Enix have also registered a Gyrozetter trademark in Europe for use with videogames, toys and comics.
