Strider, one of Capcom’s arcade classics, will be available as a Virtual Console download in Japan sometime next month. Wii owners will be able to purchase the Sega Genesis version, which is pretty close to the arcade version. Strider will cost 600 Wii Points ($6).

Capcom is also re-releasing the Genesis version of Super Street Fighter II with a bonus feature – online battles. The Virtual Console re-release supports Nintendo Wi-Fi for versus mode bouts throughout Japan. Super Street Fighter II will be sold at the same price as a standard Mega Drive title, 600 Wii Points.

Neat re-releases, but since we haven’t seen a Virtual Console game show up in North America for months it may be a long time before Strider trickles overseas.
