Nippon Ichi promises a seamless world with no transitions between towns and the game world. The magazine touts players will have a high degree of freedom since the game is a sandbox world where players can side with right or wrong. Residents have certain parameters and can become enemies depending on player actions.

The Witch and the Hundred Calvarymen has some dungeon RPG elements. For example, the game does not end when you die. You recover, but lose your items. Graphics in the game are 3D and be played from a top down perspective.

One significant change is the style. Compared to other Nippon Ichi titles, The Witch and the Hundred Calvarymen will be dark and show brutality. However, the game won’t be gory. Disgaea designer Takehito Harada is doing the game’s graphics.

The Witch and the Hundred Calvarymen is slated for release in spring 2012.
