Dragon Quest X Slated For 2012 [Update: Only For Wii]

Square Enix didn’t set a date for Dragon Quest X: Waking of the Five Tribes, but series creator Yuji Hori announced at the end of the press conference to expect it in 2012. For further details check the web, Hori joked.

Dragon Quest X is in development for Wii and Wii U. The Wii U version will have enhanced graphics, but players will be in the same world.

 

The game will have five races (six counting human?): ogre, elf, wedi, pukuripo, and dwarf.

Update: We checked the web, as Hori suggested and the official Dragon Quest X page says Wii’s targeted release is in 2012. The Wii U version is TBA. The Wii version will be a disc game and will utilize USB memory, presumably for updates. Players will be able to use a remote + nunchuk, classic controller, classic controller pro or a USB keyboard to play the game.
