When Namco Bandai revealed Xianghua’s daughter, Leixia, as a playable character in Soulcalibur V, people were quick to question who her father was, with the general opinion being that it was Kilik. So, what happened to Kilik after Soulcalibur IV?

“All I can say is, he is what you might call an ill-fated character…” director, Daishi Odashima, teased on his Twitter feed. A fan pointed out that Leixia wears Kilik’s necklace, to which simply Odashima replied: “Another good observation.”

He followed up with more teases: “Things that are certain with Leixia is that she is Xianghua’s daughter and is 15 years old. Her father? That’s a secret.”

Moving along, another of Odashima’s tweets read: “Come to think of it there are really young girls in SC but not really young boys. Maybe we need to put them in lol.”

Odashima says that the process of drawing and colouring a Soulcalibur V character takes about a week, but if you were to include the designing aspect, it takes anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks.
