Yes, there’s still another new Nintendo DS game to talk about. Remember Fossil Fighters? Red Entertainment and Nintendo collaborated to develop the Pokémon-like game and released it overseas in 2009. After that, Japan got Super Fossil Fighters, and this game is now headed out of Japan, too.

Like its predecessor, Super Fossil Fighters has you excavating and cleaning fossils, and reviving them into Vivosaurs to do battle. New to Super are Giant Fossil Rocks (which contain complete dinosaur fossils) and Odd Fossil Rocks (which are two-sided). The better you clean these fossils, the more powerful your Vivosaurs will be.

Battles in Super Fossil Fighters consist of teams of three. You’ll have to rotate the positions of your Vivosaurs to make sure you’re using them effectively in battle. New “Super Evolver” Vivosaurs evolve into new forms with the help of golden fossils.

You can compete in matchmaking battles in Super Fossil Fighters, too, and download new events and Vivosaurs off Nintendo Wi-Fi. Nintendo have the game slated for release this holiday. That’s a lot of releases for the DS in the second half of the year!
