Namco Bandai’s expanded version of God Eater has a second helping of story. God Eater Burst’s new scenario takes place three months after the events of God Eater where Johannes von Schicksal accidently dies. You’ll meet new characters and slay new Aragami, like Hannibal pictured below.
Players have some new tricks to fight off Hannibal. Burst mode includes additional actions like a rapid attack and a charge move for hunts. Namco Bandai also created an Avatar Card system where players can trade cards of their characters with each other. These cards act like computer controlled companions in other player’s game. Sounds similar to the ghost fighting mode in Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection. God Eater Burst also has new missions, weapons, and costumes –including a bear suit and nurse outfit.
God Eater Burst is slated for release this fall in Japan. Own God Eater? Then you can upgrade with an append disc for 2,100 yen ($23). The append disc requires the original version of God Eater. A standalone game will be available too for 5,229 yen ($58).
