No doubt publishers in Japan are thinking of their next move in light of the recent 3DS announcement. Among them are Marvelous Entertainment, who have published the majority of their portfolio in recent years on the DS Lite.
Addressing the Nintendo 3DS tease on his company’s blog, Marvelous CEO Haruki Nakayama says that, the announcement, while surprising, was welcome news. He suggests that, while circumstances surrounding its eventual release are unclear, and that development costs and the retail price of the device will be higher, judging by the current market, it will sell well. Nakayama goes on to mention that he is optimistic about the online capabilities of the device and is considering them carefully.
“I hope to refine numbers and supply good products,” he concluded. It’s good to see Marvelous still have their fighting spirit.
